National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE)
The NSSE is administered annually to first-year and senior students at participating institutions. Results provide valid, reliable information on the extent to which students engage in proven educational practices that correspond to desirable learning outcomes. More than 1,500 bachelors-granting institutions have participated in this effort to assess and improve undergraduate education. Institutions receive diagnostic information about teaching and learning, with customizable comparison groups, and resources to assist in interpreting and using results. Visit our exhibit to learn more about the updated NSSE instrument and reports, and its companion surveys, the Faculty Survey of Student Engagement (FSSE) and the Beginning College Survey of Student Engagement (BCSSE).
