Seeing is Believing! Assessing Student Learning Through Observation
Modifying rubrics to use as observation tools is an effective method of assessing student learning in co-curricular programs. Using this method at Pitzer College to assess Critical Thinking and Interpersonal Communication in Resident Advisor training provided actionable findings, did not add to staff workload, and required limited instruction before use.
