Assessment of Long-Term Educational Outcomes: Insights from the Kirkpatrick’s Four Level Model

Adapting the classic framework of business training evaluation, the Kirkpatrick’s four level model of training criteria (Kirkpatrick, 1959, 1976, 1996) may benefit Higher Education. The four levels of criteria are reaction, learning, behavior, and results. The last two are vital yet difficult to assess; appropriate methodology and levels of investigation are discussed.
